„...« Soul » IST das Wort. Der Hauptsong « Santo Negro » beginnt mit einem leidenschaftlichen a cappella, welches zu einem starken Percussion-Mix aus Garifuna-Trommeln und Schildkrötenpanzern wird. Die gesungene Garifuna-Sprache kann man mit nichts vergleichen, was man schon einmal gehört hat. Und das aus gutem Grund. Garifuna ist ein einzigartiger kreolischer Mix aus einheimischen und afrikanischen Sprachen. Einige der Lieder werden in einem « Clave-Rhythmus » gespielt und spiegeln somit die Durchdringung der ursprünglich von der Karibikküste stammenden Garifuna mit Latein- und Zentralamerika wider. Die Hälfte der Songs wird als « traditionell » anerkannt.
