Elina Duni, who was born in Albania in 1981 and emigrated to Geneva, Switzerland at the age of 11, is the shooting star of the Swiss jazz scene. With a soulful voice, an enchanting stage presence and supported by excellent musicians, she has conquered concert stages at a rapid pace – mostly with songs based on ethnic music from the Balkans: in 2009 she performed on the main stages of all the important Swiss jazz festivals (Willisau, Cully, Schaffhausen, etc.), but also at various foreign festivals such as the Grenoble Jazz Festival (France) and the Gaume Jazz Festival (Belgium). In addition, her band has had successful tours in many clubs in Switzerland and elsewhere.
In autumn 2012 the quartet will release their debut on ECM. In October and November Elina Duni is heading to a big club tour to present her new album!
