MUCHACHITO BOMBO INFIERNO , Muchachito is Jairo Perera Viedma, born in Santa Coloma de Gramenet in 1975. His brother, Joni, introduced him into the world of rock & roll, he discovered it to him and took Jairo to see bands like Johnny Guitar Watson, Stray Cats, The Blues Brothers or Jonathan Richman. It was only a matter of time he would want to form a band.
He started playing with several groups in his neighborhood until he created Trimelon de Naranjus in 1993. After seven years playing around Spain and Europe, in 2000 Trimelón was officially dissolved. He began to play alone in small bars, a very underground route that permitted him living from music playing nearly everday. His style was called “Rumboxing”, mixing rumba and swing at the speed that only Muchachito can run. A melee combat with the public.
In 2003, Jairo extended the band and started playing with a quartet: Lere double bass, Hector Bellino "1/2 drums" and Josue's trumpet. Accidentally in a jam session of nine hours, Muchachito meets Tito Carlos and his white and black keys. The union of Tito and Josue, jazz and Studio musicians, with Lere, Hector and Jairo, street musicians, worked like a charm and encouraged Jairo to reshape a new band.
April 2004 marks a turning point, because they sold out the Apolo in Barcelona with an accomplice and enthusiastic audience. At 2005 released their first album "Vamos que nos Vamos " plubished with the suport of La Fabrica de Colores, Ojos de Brujo label, who fell for his natural and infectious energy. Concert to concert their popularity was growing and the band was also increased with the Gigoleto Brass, 5 horns with Josue as director, and David "Niño" (sax), Martin Garcia (sax), Oscar Bas (trombone) and Alberto Perez (trumpet), that reinforced them as a great swing band. Jairo also called his friend Santos de Veracruz, who was the responsible of the graphic art, to paint a big picture while the band plays. With this big family he travelled throughout Spain for two years and its success allowed Muchachito to bet on the self-production. As a result of this road show, in which the meeting and rubbing with "similar species" allowed Jairo to find some really good friendships , started a new crazy project. Muchachito, Los Delinqüentes, Kiko Veneno and Tomasito coincide in some settings and there arises the idea of doing something together. Between June and July 2006 they spend together some holidays in Jerez de la Frontera and is there where almost spontaneously appears the legendary G5 Tucaratupapi." But the machine does not stop.
In 2007 the band self-edited "Visto lo Visto", the second part of a trilogy of "four records". Just when he finished recording the thirteen songs, Jairo had to pass a little throat surgery. Bad times for someone who wasn't used to be quiet and to rest. But health comes first and only when his voice was totally recovered he started again his unbridled concerts. In a few years Muchachito had passed of playing at bars to create his twenty people self company, completely independent, but that was much more work.
In 2009 the band had holiday and Jairo took theoretically a sabbatical year. Shortly after stopping, Muchachito starts “The Pallet's Tour”. Completely alone at the stage, he made himself a percussion instrument with a pallet under their feet.
In 2010 they self-edited their third album 'Idas y Vueltas". A relaxed work which makes them regained the freshness of their first album, and occupied quickly a place among his classics. The disc was recorded at his own studio, "The cave", and mixed by Joe Dworniak from Uk. In this disc the band also changed. Manel (former co-Trimelón) came to replace Hector Bellino. Again a presentation at the Sala Razzmatazz with sold-out. The previous day celebrated the album's release with a party for more than a thousand friends and spent almost three hours playing with the band.
Muchachito Bombo Infierno started then a tour around about 50 spanish cities with sold-out in many of them. But Jairo was suffering something like "creative incontinence" and invented a new format to enjoy their songs called "Solo Muchachito". He was as a one-man band, playing guitar, drums and a few special gadgets. In this new format he was also accompanied by his unconditional "pintaor" Santos de Veracruz, who was drawing fantastics pictures during the show and used to sing a couple of songs too. With this format travelled for the first time to Argentina in November 2010, enjoying a legendary concert which lasted three hours at Niceto Club (Buenos Aires). 2011 has been a year full of concerts mainly Spanish festivals and international visits to Italy, France, Portugal, United Kingdom. The tour ended on October 22th with a concert for more than 6000 people in the Forum in Barcelona. For about 3 hours and 37 minutes Muchachito Bombo Infierno enjoyed with their show and the surprise appearance of many of his best friends, Albert Pla, Bebe, el Chipi, Deliquentes, Estopa, Joan Garriga, Kiko Veneno, La Excepcion, Maguilaz, Tomasito, ... a great night to remember.
