Gypsy Violonist, “Teufelsgeiger”

Lászlo Bóni, 2nd Violin, was born in Budapest in 1968 and studied with Roby Lakatos' father, playing in his orchestra and earning a soloist's diploma as a gypsy violinist in 1987. He then spent six months in Japan, performing with a gypsy trio that subsequently toured the whole of Europe. From 1991 to 1994 he worked in Antwerp.
Jeno Lisztes, Cimbalom, was born in Budapest in 1986 and is the grandson of a famous cimbalom player. He was only four (!) when he started studying the cimbalom with Agnes Szakaly (classical). He then studied classical and gipsy music with Jeno Soros. Only twelve, he won the Racz Aladar Cimbalom Competition. Since 2005 he is studying at the Liszt Frenc Music Academy in Budapest.
Laszlo Balogh was born in Budapest on the 1st of June 1987. Raised within a musical family, he started studying music at the age of 6 with professor Agnes Székely of the Toth Aladar Academy in Budapest. His first instrument having been the cimbalom, at the age of 12, his dedication focused to the guitar, the study of which instrument he continued in Brussels. The next step was to study classical music with Veronika Ravasz at the Ferenc Liszt Conservatory in Hungary. He then returned to Brussels to become an ‘apprentice’ in the Roby Lakatos Ensemble for two years. During this period Laszlo has recognized his own infatuation with Jazz and Gipsy style music. Laszlo Balogh is now solo guitarist with the Roby Lakatos Ensemble.
Robert Fehér, Double Bass, was born in Budapest 1987 and initially played the piano but changed to his present instrument studying classical double bass with Prof. Lajos Duduj. After that he studied at the Jazz Academy and the Frenc Liszt Academy. He received his soloist's diploma in 2004 and then went to Belgium to study at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.
Frantisek Janoska, Piano, was born in Bratislava in 1986. he studied with Prof. Peter Cerman and Prof. Juraj Tandler at the State Conservatorium in Bratislava. Franiske won the International Liszt Ferenc competition in Hungary in 2002 and the 2006 Concours Martial Solal. Currently he is studying with Prof. Roland Keller at the Music & Performer School in Vienna
