Come in – and never find your way out. The Busters with their history of 24 years on stage will make you never want to leave once you have started moving your feet to their music. Being Germany’s most renowned Ska-band they have seen it all – from smaller street festivals or famous clubs up to the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival (1995). They have even successfully toured the coasts of the United States as well as Japan. This energetic ensemble comes very close to what the often abused term “cult” intends to say. Even more so when you look at their 16 published albums.
Now on tour with their brand new Special Double Feature DVD, published at their own label Ska Revolution Records, will keep the Busters’ star status rising. This DVD includes a live concert which was recorded at the Fabrik, in Hamburg on March 15th and a Band documentary, produced by Jonas Grosch.
You will find Ska – and much more than this since the 12 members of the band are far too outstanding as musicians to get stuck with one type of music. Their sophisticated mix of styles makes you question at times whether your feet are still on the ground. As a basis you will find the typical Ska-hiccup-rhythm mingled with a whole lot of brass – trumpet, trombone and saxophone twice. And so there is only piano, organ and guitar missing to make the Busters-sound complete - and of course the two singers who seem to be made out of nothing else other than joy.
There´s nothing left to say but a great live-band. A sure thing to rock and overcome the impending winter depression on their legendary winter tour as well as to audaciously revolve the audience on the wintertour 2010/11. Revolution Ska!
