These days, it is quite difficult to find artists who are able to create their own music all by themselves. The singer Zoe is one of these very rare musicians. Her exceptional talent arose very early, already during her childhood. When she was 4 years old, she took piano lessons and since then she was working on her carrier as a musician. After her schooldays, she studied song writing and jazz in Munich and made important experiences in playing with bands. This well-founded musical training enabled Zoe to compose her songs by herself and write the lyrics. Her personal background functions as a major source of inspiration: She was born in Liberia but had to flee soon to Bavaria with her parents from the genocide and war in her homeland. As a result, clear political messages are a striking feature of her music, which attract a lot of public interest.
Zoe has chosen Jamaica as her adopted country for artistic and spiritual inspiration, which welcomed her with open arms: she has recorded her debut album Zoeciety (2003) in the legendary GeeJam studios. Her hit single “Could it Be you“ was produced by reggae-Star Gentleman and featured Ky-Many Marley, the son of music legend Bob Marley. One year later, her second album Exile African earned Zoe even more recognition and demonstrated the universalism of the young artist. The Album entered the Top 30 of many European Charts. With her current album Golden Rebellion, bolstered by Anthony B., Josh David and Alborosie , Zoe and her amazing voice are definitely established in the world of soul and reggae as a reputable artist now. All songs are invariably written by herself. Her talent also extends as far as the range of her music: The spectrum includes Soul, Funk and Rootsreggae, profound ballades and danceable Beats. Her songs always convey a stunning positive energy and that is why Zoes music is suitable for every situation.
Also live is Zoe in great demand: she already played on festivals all-over Europe and especially inspired the Italians. The press there celebrated the new favourite of the audience as the new discovery of the music scene and Zoe played in sold out venues. Zoe is also pretty popular in Germany, too and in 2005 she received two reggae awards - a remarkable achievement. We are looking forward to presenting the German reggae-dancehall queen from now on!
